9 DIVISIONS OF THE ANIMAL KINGDOM!

1. Porifera, the Sponges.
2. Coelenterata, the Hydras.
3. Platyhelminthes, Flatwoms.
4. Nemathelminthes, Roundworms.
5. Annelida, Segmented Roundworms.
6. Mollusca, the Soft-bodied animals.
7. Arthropoda, Jointed legs.
8. Chordata. Animals w/ Backbone
9. Echinodermata. Star Fishes.

    Mr. Jaren... What is the difference between Chordata and Vertebrate ? since they are both Animals w/ backbone...

    Kenny,

    Chordata is the name of the Phylum while the vertebrate word it self refers to animals having backbone. The difference is the use and function of the words chordata and vertebrate.
